Discover the little known Shekhawati region in the North of Rajasthan and its beautiful fresco paintings. Presentation

 

8 days package from 1 475€ per person, full board (flight non-included).

Residence at Haveli Le Prince in Fatehpur (Rajasthan) including full board, visits & local transfers from and to Jaipur

Hatha yoga course training with Anaïs Joseph, qualified teacher

Introduction to fresco technique with Sabine Cotte, paintings conservator.

 

During your visit: yoga lessons, meditation and cultural activities

 

You will participate in an international cultural project.

The benefits from these stays will allow the Association « The Shekhawati Project » to carry on its endeavors in the region.

In connection with the fresco restoration activities, the Association offers workshops based on two essential themes:

  1. Sustainable development : demonstrating the close ties between the conservation of historic monuments and harmonious urbanisation by means of preserving the sites and handling waste management.

  2. Women: teaching young Indian women the techniques of conservation/restoration,  helping  to find a career them in this field. 

 

 

Highlights

 

  • Supporting an international cultural project: profits will be donated to The Shekhawati Project, an association involved locally in sustainable development and women empowerment through the conservation of the wall paintings

  • Daily yoga practice at sunrise when the peacocks fly off (all levels /certified yoga teacher)

  • Meditation on the roof terraces at sunset

  • Comfortable accommodation in a Haveli with a historic atmosphere: a newly restored ‘Thousand and one Nights’ palace, richly decorated with wall paintings

  • Full immersion in a culturally rich area, old trading posts on the Silk Road, off the beaten tracks

  • Introduction to the ancestral fresco technique and possibility to create your own painting to take home at the end of the stay

  • Visit of traditional villages and cities

Flights Paris-Delhi-Jaïpur with Air India or Oman Air, or other companies from Paris.

Meet at Jaipur Airport on October 10th at  3 pm for a group transfer to Fatehpur Shekhawati.

The average temperature in Jaipur in October is 33°C (maximum 35°C, minimum 31°C)

Ideal climatic conditions, October is a month recommended by travel agents.

Valid Passeport, valid for 6 months after the return date, for French, Belgian and Swiss tourists.
Visa (around 75 € / person) – E-VISA : from 01/05/2015, France is on the list of 31 new countries accepted for E.visa ! Warning : it is not a visa on arrival, some necessary steps must be taken in France prior to departure.
